ABOUT Alice*

Alice* was sexual exploited by someone claiming to help her family. She was scared to report what was happening as her perpetrator was supporting her family with vital food and money. She final shared what was happening to her with her family and they went straight to the police. Her perpetrator has been arrested, tried and found guilty. However, she was struggling to feel safe and has come to the SHE Rescue Home for time to heal.

Alice* enjoys drawing but if she has to be outside, she like to play tennis. She also likes learning to box. She likes dramatic contrasted colour combinations like red/black/grey. Her favourite food is sour soup and fried green vegetables. She wants to work in a salon as a hair stylist.

Alice’S* FAMILY

Alice* comes from a large family. She is the third child of 4 siblings. Her father is a construction worker. He works with short term contracts and doesn’t have regular work. Her mother struggles with her health. When she is feeling well enough, she works as a labourer on a local farm. The inconsistent income and medical expenses mean the family struggles financially. This kind of poverty is one of the vulnerabilities that human traffickers and sexual predators exploit.

Alice’S* FUTURE

Alice* will stay at the SHE Rescue Home while she heals. She will go to a school designed to help her catch up on missed years of schooling. She is preparing for interviews into a beauty vocational program. Her counsellor will make sure she has all the support she needs to heal and her social worker will work with her family to make sure their home is a safe option for future reintegration.
