ABOUT Romduol*

Romdoul* was playing at a friend’s house when she was sexually abused by someone in the household. Her neighbours found her beaten on the street and took her home to her Grandmother. Her Grandmother was able to get her medical help and care. The perpetrator was arrested and is in custody pending trial.

Her favourite colour is red, she enjoys playing with her dolls and playing sports with friends. She especially love soccer and swimming. She is enjoying getting to know the other girls in the SHE Home, although she misses her grandmother. She dreams of working in a salon and being a hair stylist.

ROMDUOL’S* FAMILY

Romduol* had been living with her grandmother ever since she was young, as her parents divorced and her mother moved to another country to work. Her mother sends money each month to support her children, but they rarely ever see her. Her grandmother’s home is only one room and has no lockable door. Her house is located in a plot of land surrounded by neighbour’s houses so she has no direct access to the road. Her grandmother plans to save enough money to buy land from the neighbours to use as a walkway/driveway and prevent the access to the home from being blocked.

ROMDUOL’S* FUTURE

Romdoul* will live in the SHE Rescue Home while her court case is ongoing and will go to a school designed to help her catch up on missed years of schooling. Her counsellor will make sure she has all the support she needs to heal and her social worker will work with her family to make sure their home is a safe option for future reintegration.
