ABOUT Racheal*

Racheal* was being sexually exploited while her grandmother was at work. Her perpetrators threatened to kill her if she ever told one. Her grandmother noticed a change in her behaviour and she felt safe enough to tell her what was happening. Her grandmother called the police and the perpetrators are being investigated. Racheal has come to the SHE Rescue Home as a safe place to live while the court case is ongoing and her village is unsafe.

Since being in a safe place she has revealed that she was sexual exploited for years when she lived with her mother in a different community as well. She was hoping she would be safe when she moved to live with her grandmother.

She enjoys playing hide and seek as well as swimming. Her favourite meal is a Korko soup and lychee.

She enjoys relaxing by watching movies while snacking on grapes. Her favourite meal is a Khmer soup called Korko, especially with fish.

Racheal’S* FAMILY

Racheals* parents have been divorced since she was young. Both her parents have remarried and build new families. Racheal was given to her grandmother when her mother remarried. It has just been her and her grandmother since then.

Racheal’S* FUTURE

Racheal* will stay at the SHE Rescue Home while she heals. She will go to a school designed to help her catch up on missed years of schooling. Her counsellor will make sure she has all the support she needs to heal and her social worker will work with her family to ensure their home is a safe option for future reintegration.
