An Update on Cambodia and Our Team

Last month, we had our 3rd and final house build for the year, which saw Kimhong* reintegrate back into her community as she and her family moved into the incredible new house built by our team.

It was an exciting time for this family, but even more so because it was just in time for Cambodia’s annual Water Festival Holiday.

All of our girls in the Home get to spend this celebratory weekend with their families and join the festivities that commemorate the reversal of the Tonle Sap river’s current, which switches from flowing into the ocean to flowing into the Mekong River.

People gather from all over Cambodia and the world to Phnom Penh’s riverside to watch colourful boats race down the river, followed by fireworks at night. The city is crammed with 2 million more people each year.

All the girls and the staff had a lovely family-filled weekend as they celebrated their Cambodian culture with traditions centuries of years old and enjoyed being a part of something so big, so joyful and so full of life. It's definitely a highlight in the Cambodian calendar for our girls and staff.

Give it up for our incredible volunteer …

Massive shoutout to Kiri in New Zealand, who hosted a beautiful ladies fundraiser and even arranged for our stock to be mailed to her to sell at her event.

The night was a fantastic success! Kiri raised $2,000 for our SHE Rescue Home, which is going to do wonders for our girls in the Home. Not only was the fundraising element a success, but it was also a beautiful night that gathered women together to empower each other.

We are so grateful for advocates like Kiri who are such go-getters! She put her hand up to support our cause and has gone great lengths to advocate for us.

We are honoured to include Kiri in the IT'S NOT OK Projects team!
