To run a clothing store
When I came to the SHE Rescue Home, I was 12 years old and in grade 5. My favourite colour is red and my favourite foods are chicken soup and oranges. I had been sexually exploited by a relative and after my mother found out she reported it to police. The local authorities brought me to the SHE Rescue Home for my safety while the perpetrator is being prosecuted.
My family are very poor and homeless, and my mother and four other siblings are currently living in the grounds of the local temple. Even though the extended family live nearby, we do not have any support as there is a history of violence in the family. My mother earns a living collecting plastic bottle to sell to recycling depots.
I will stay at the Home while my perpetrator's court case is going on. My counsellor will make sure I have all the support I need while I stay here so I can recover from the trauma and my social worker will assess when it is safe to return to my village in the future. When I grow up, I want to run a clothes shop.
