Thida’s* Reintegration Story So Far:
Milestones for her time in the SHE Rescue Home:
Thida* arrived in the home when she was 16 as a survivor of sexual exploitation. She has been an absolute pleasure to have in the SHE Rescue Home. She has grown immensely in her emotional maturity and is moving towards healing. She is polite and conscientious - always happy to share and help her friends in the home. During her time in the home, she completed a vocational training course in sewing with a partner organisation. Her court case with her perpetrator has finished.
About her reintegration:
Thida* was reintegrated into the SHE Transition home in July 2019. Living here meant she could work in the SHE Sewing Centre, as her family live outside of the city. At her reintegration party, she was given a bicycle, phone, clothes, shoes, a bag of rice and a mosquito net. She had saved a lot of her pocket money from making armbands in the home, so is off to a good start.
Support for the next three years:
Thida’s Social Worker and Counsellor will continue to help strengthen her independence. Her social worker will continue to provide her support as she faces decisions in her life and encourage her to work towards her goal of running her own sewing shop in the future.
